stc celebrates World Environment Day in collaboration with influencer and content creator Youssef Al-Omran “Bu Jarrah”

(MENAFN- Morimak) Kuwait City, 07 May 2023: Kuwait Telecommunications Company – stc, a world-class digital leader providing innovative services and platforms to customers, enabling the digital transformation in Kuwait, celebrated World Environment Day with numerous activities in collaboration with influential Kuwaiti personality, Youssef Al-Omran, also known as "Bu Jarrah", and a large group of volunteers. The activities were launched within stc’s latest campaign under the slogan “Our Environment, Our Life”, which focused on environmental sustainability and preservation.
The campaign consisted of several activities that aimed to spread awareness on the importance of environmental preservation, reflecting one of the key pillars behind stc’s extensive corporate social responsibility (CSR) program. In one of the initiatives, stc collaborated with “Bu Jarrah” to cover a large dangerous enclosure at Abu Al-Hasaniyah Beach, while also cleaning the shoreline. The area was made safe to prevent beachgoers from falling into the hole, while ensuring that all waste was removed from the surrounding area.
In a statement, stc indicated that the activities under its campaign aimed to showcase the importance of environmental preservation during the internationally recognized day for such activities, which enabled stc to engage with the community and its employees, while shedding light on an important aspect of life. In recognition of those who participated in the activities, stc distributed environmentally friendly souvenirs.

Preserving the environment is one of the key pillars under stc’s CSR framework. More recently, stc was the main sponsor of the Gulf University of Science and Technology’s ‘Ocean Plastic Week’, an initiative dedicated to artistic displays created by students using recycled material found while cleaning up beaches, that included setting a Guinness World Record for the largest bottle cap word.
In addition, stc highlighted its active participation in various campaigns that promote environmental awareness, including last year’s World Environment Day where large container was placed at the avenues to collect plastic water bottles and the participation of National Geographic Ultimate Explorer, with 30 vouchers given to the participants who contributed in the mission of collecting plastic water bottles, beach and desert cleanups, as well as stc’s collaboration with Omniya on several past projects and other initiatives focusing primarily on conserving and recycling plastic to promote sustainable living.
