Erdogan Unveils New Cabinet Members for Türkiye's Government
(MENAFN) Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has revealed the members of Türkiye's new Cabinet during a ceremony at the Cankaya Palace in Ankara. Following his inauguration as president in parliament, Erdogan announced the lineup of ministers who will be responsible for key government departments.
The Cabinet includes Yilmaz Tunc as the Justice Minister, Mahinur Ozdemir Goktas as the Family and Social Services Minister, and Vedat Isikhan as the Labor and Social Security Minister. Other notable appointments include Hakan Fidan as the Foreign Minister, Alparslan Bayraktar as the Energy and Natural Resources Minister, and Mehmet Simsek as the Treasury and Finance Minister.
During the announcement, Erdogan also named Cevdet Yilmaz as his choice for vice president. The formation of the new Cabinet comes after the presidential runoff elections on May 28, where Erdogan secured 52.18 percent of the vote to claim victory. His main opponent, Kemal Kilicdaroglu, received 47.82 percent of the vote.
In addition to the presidential elections, the Justice and Development (AK) Party, led by Erdogan, emerged as the top party in parliament with 268 seats. The AK Party's alliance partners, the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) and the New Welfare Party (YRP), also secured seats, giving the coalition a combined majority of 323 seats in the 600-seat parliament.
