Pres. Al-Sisi: Egypt Respects Sudanese People's Will

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) CAIRO, May 27 (KUNA) -- Egypt's President Abdelfatah Al-Sisi has affirmed his country's respect of the will of Sudanese people and non-interference in their domestic affairs.
This came during Al-Sisi's participation in the African Peace and Security Council Summit, via videoconference, to discuss the current crisis in Sudan, in the presence of some heads of the African states, Egypt's presidential spokesman Ahmad Fahmi said Saturday.
Al-Sisi stressed that Egypt would continue to exert all efforts to end the current crisis, along with backing the efforts of the African Union and all existing mechanisms to end the current conflict.
He referred to continuing coordination with all partners and relief organizations to support efforts to provide urgent humanitarian needs for Sudan to alleviate the deteriorating humanitarian hardships, Fahmi said.
Al-Sisi stressed that Egypt's efforts aiming to end the current crisis in Sudan are integrated with the various relevant regional tracks, including the African Union and the League of Arab States.
The efforts are based on a number and constants topped with reaching full and comprehensive ceasefire, and maintaining the Sudanese state's institutions, Al-Sisi elaborated.
He has pointed out that this is the main guarantee to protect the state from the danger of collapse and confirms that the conflict in Sudan concerns the Sudanese brothers themselves.
Therefore the role of the regional parties is to help the Sudanese achieve consensus on resolving the causes of the conflict, Al-Sisi noted. (end)
