Egyptian Deputy FM Tackles With British Envoy To Sudan Cease-Fire Efforts


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) CAIRO, May 10 (KUNA) -- Egyptian Deputy Foreign Minister for African Affairs Ambassador Hamdi Loza discussed with the British envoy to Sudan, Robert Fairweather, efforts to reach an immediate, comprehensive, and sustainable cease-fire in Sudan.
In a statement, Egypt's Foreign Ministry said the announcement came during Ambassador Loza's reception alongside the British envoy to Sudan. He is currently visiting Cairo.
According to the statement, the two sides addressed the need to work to end the bloodshed in Sudan.
The two sides also discussed the importance of opening humanitarian corridors to facilitate the arrival of food and medical supplies to the Sudanese.
They also discussed Egypt's pivotal role in this regard. (end)
