Türkiye's Borsa Istanbul opened on Wednesday with its benchmark stock index, the BIST 100, starting at 4,544.48 points. This represented a rise of 0.18 percent or 8.28 points compared to the previous day's close.
On Tuesday, the BIST 100 closed at 4,536.20 points, down by 0.56 percent. During that day, the daily trading volume was 58 billion Turkish liras, which was equivalent to USD3 billion.
As of 9.56 a.m. local time on Wednesday, the US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 19.5264, while the euro/lira exchange rate was 21.4220. Additionally, one British pound could be exchanged for 24.6595 Turkish liras.
Meanwhile, the price of Brent crude oil was around USD76.86 per barrel. At the same time, the value of an ounce of gold was USD2,038.55. These were the latest market figures available at the time of reporting.
