LA Authorities Seek Victims of Alleged Fake Doctor

(MENAFN) The Los Angeles District Attorney's Office has made a public plea for victims to come forward in a case involving a man who allegedly impersonated a doctor and practiced medicine without a certification. Stephan Gevorkian, 44, was charged with five felony counts of practicing medicine without a license, and authorities suspect he may have practiced on thousands of patients for several years. The charges are serious, as practicing medicine without a license is not only illegal in California, but it can also pose a significant risk to people's health.

District Attorney George Gascón stressed the importance of holding Gevorkian accountable for his actions and protecting the public from fraudulent medical practices. The DA's office has asked anyone who believes they may be a victim in this case to contact the Consumer Protection hotline at 213-257-2465.

The case came to light after an undercover investigator received a consultation from Gevorkian in November 2022 at Pathways Medical in North Hollywood. The business offers blood tests, treatment advice, and treatment for serious conditions like cancer and viral infections. During the consultation, officials allege that Gevorkian failed to properly address abnormal hormone levels, which could suggest a serious medical issue.

This case underscores the importance of verifying the credentials of medical professionals and seeking care only from licensed practitioners. The public must remain vigilant against fraudulent activities that could put their health and well-being in jeopardy. The District Attorney's Office is committed to working with law enforcement agencies to identify and prosecute individuals who engage in such criminal activities.
