Qatar Cancer Society, Houston Methodist Global Health Care Services Sign MoU to Advance Cancer Awareness


(MENAFN) Qatar Cancer Society (QCS) and Houston Methodist Global Health Care Services have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to advance cancer awareness, support patients, and promote scientific research opportunities in the field. The MoU was signed by Sheikh Dr. Khalid bin Jabor Al Thani, Chairman of QCS, and Talal Braidy, Regional Director of Global Development at Houston Methodist Global.

The signing of the MoU is a significant step towards raising cancer awareness and empowering patients in Qatar. The agreement also reflects the commitment of both organizations to community service and effective partnerships that benefit society. Sheikh Dr. Khalid bin Jabor Al Thani praised Houston Methodist Global's efforts in the health sector and its active role in supporting QCS. He expressed hope that the cooperation would be the first building block for future partnerships that benefit all members of society, especially those living with cancer.

The agreement between QCS and Houston Methodist Global provides an opportunity to build close partnerships to spread awareness and contribute to the provision of health and humanitarian services to cancer patients. The two organizations are cooperating in affirmation of QCS's vision to make Qatar a leader in cancer prevention and control. Sheikh Dr. Khalid bin Jabor Al Thani indicated that the agreement between the two parties reflects their commitment to working together to confront cancer and support patients.

Talal Braidy stated that Houston Methodist Global Health Care Services is honored to partner with QCS to support and advocate for programs that empower individuals with cancer and expand potential areas of scientific research collaboration in the field of cancer. He added that Houston Methodist is committed to enhancing healthcare delivery within Qatar and the region. Braidy expressed his expectation for a long-standing and mutually beneficial relationship with QCS as they continue their pioneering work to prevent cancer and reduce its burden in Qatar.

The MoU was signed during a Suhoor event at the St. Regis Doha Hotel, attended by several people living with cancer and their families, as well as a group of media professionals and public figures. Overall, the collaboration between QCS and Houston Methodist Global is a positive step towards advancing cancer awareness and research in Qatar, and could potentially pave the way for future partnerships and initiatives in the field.
