About 100 bodies of Russian soldiers killed in battle were brought to the morgue of the central district hospital in Troitske, Luhansk region, on March 26 The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said this in a morning update published on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.
"Over the past day, the enemy launched two missile attacks, 23 air strikes, carried out 38 attacks using multiple launch rocket systems on the positions of our troops and the civilian infrastructure of populated areas," the report says.
The General Staff stresses that the threat of further enemy missile attacks and air strikes throughout the territory of Ukraine remains high.
The occupiers are focusing their main efforts on conducting offensive operations in the Kupiansk, Lyman, Bakhmutske, Avdiivka and Marinka areas - the defense forces repelled more than 60 enemy attacks.
In the Volyn, Polissia, Sivershchyna, and Slobozhanshchyna directions, the operational situation has not changed significantly. No signs of offensive groups' formation have been recorded. On the territory of the Republic of Belarus, combat trainings of Russian armed forces' units are ongoing. The enemy continues to maintain a military presence in the border areas of the Kursk and Belgorod regions. Over the past day, the enemy shelled the areas of Novovasylivka, Ukrainsk, Seredyna-Buda, Bachivsk, Esman, Atynske, Bilopillia, Volfyne, Myropilske and Pokrovka in Sumy region. In Kharkiv region, more than 15 districts of settlements came under enemy fire, including Lobanivka, Mali Prokhody, Lyptsi, Strelecha, Starytsia, Ohirtseve, Milove, Petro-Ivanivka and Ridkodub.
In the Kupiansk and Lyman directions, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive operations near Synkivka, Bilohorivka, and Vesele. Russian forces carried out artillery shelling in the areas of Kupiansk and Tabaivka settlements in Kharkiv region; Stelmakhivka, Makiivka, Nevske, Dibrova and Bilohorivka in Luhansk region, as well as Kolodiaz, Siversk, Spirne and Vyimka in Donetsk region.
In the Bakhmut direction, the enemy continues an assault on Bakhmut city, which is held by Ukrainian defenders, as well as in the districts of Bohdanivka and Ivanivske in Donetsk region. Russian forces shelled more than 20 settlements, including Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Bakhmut, Chasiv Yar, Stupochky, Oleksandro-Shultyne, Ozarianivka, Severne and Toretsk.
In the Avdiivka and Marinka directions, the enemy carried out unsuccessful offensive operations in the areas of Novobakhmutivka, Novokalynove, Avdiivka, Severne, Pervomaiske, Nevelske, Krasnohorivka and Marinka settlements. More than 15 settlements in Donetsk region came under enemy shelling, including Paraskoviivka, Novokalynove, Krasnohorivka, Kamianka, Avdiivka, Severne, Pervomaiske and Marinka.
In the Shakhtarsk direction, the enemy shelled the areas of Pobieda, Novomykhailivka, Vuhledar, Prechystivka and Velyka Novosilka settlements in Donetsk region.
In the Kherson and Zaporizhzhia directions, the enemy continues its defense. Russian forces shelled more than 30 settlements, including Olhivske, Chervone, Charivne, Orikhiv in Zaporizhzhia region; Respublikanets, Odradokamianka, Tomaryne, Novosilka, Olhivka and Sadove in Kherson region, as well as the city of Kherson.
