Doha: Minister of Labour H E Dr. Ali bin Samikh Al Marri met H E Gilbert F. Houngbo, Director General of the International Labour Organization, Catelene Passchier Chairperson of ILO Workers' group and Christophe Perrin, Director of the ILO Multilateral Cooperation Department, during his visit to the Swiss capital, Geneva.
During the meetings, they discussed aspects of joint cooperation between the State of Qatar and the International Labour Organization, and ways to support and develop them in the forthcoming period, especially the initiative to develop capacities and train specialists in the labour sector in Qatar.
Highlighted the most important achievements and outcomes realized during the past years by way of the technical cooperation program between the State of Qatar and ILO. He reiterated Qatar's interest in continuing and strengthening joint cooperation, especially after the official launch of ILO office inside the United Nations House in Qatar.
H E Dr. Ali bin Samikh Al Marri noted the effective partnership with international trade unions in modernizing and enhancing the work environment and exchanging expertise with regard to the successful experiences that have been availed, pointing to Qatar's willingness to provide assistance and convey expertise to all countries wishing to induce a change in the work environment.
