Iran's ISOICO to Build 50 Sea Taxis for Ivory Coast under MOU

(MENAFN) Iran's shipbuilding industry has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Ivory Coast to build 50 sea taxis for the African country. The agreement was made between the Ivory Coast and Iran Shipbuilding and Offshore Industries Complex (ISOICO) at the Scientific and Economic Cooperation Conference of Iran and West African Countries (IRANWAC) on Wednesday. The conference was attended by senior officials from both sides, including Mohsen Rezaei, the Iranian vice president for economic affairs.

ISOICO is a subsidiary of the Industrial Development and Renovation Organization of Iran (IDRO) and has been operating since 1973. It is currently the largest shipbuilding complex in West Asia and is located 37 kilometers west of the southern port of Bandar Abbas, covering an area of 1100 hectares.

Iran's shipbuilding industry has over 50 years of experience in the field, and it has made significant progress in recent years, becoming one of the world's major shipbuilders. The industry is capable of manufacturing and repairing various types of vessels, and the MOU with Ivory Coast is expected to further cement Iran's position as a global leader in shipbuilding.

The move is also expected to enhance economic ties between Iran and Ivory Coast, as well as the West African region. The sea taxis built by ISOICO will provide reliable and efficient transportation services for the Ivory Coast's coastal areas and contribute to the country's economic growth.
