Qatar, ICRC Sign Agreement To Open ICRC Headquarters In Doha

Doha: Qatar and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) signed on Thursday an agreement to open a headquarters for the Committee in Doha.

The agreement was signed for Qatar by the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs HE Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi and for the ICRC by President of the Committee Mirjana Spoljaric Egger.

The opening of the ICRC headquarters in Qatar aims to promote bilateral partnership between the two sides in various areas of humanitarian work of common interest, strengthen capabilities and coordination at the level of the international humanitarian movement, activate joint activities and actions in a way that contributes to achieving the goals of the two sides, and strengthen partnerships and activities between the ICRC and the local authorities in Qatar.
