Qom Province expends USD12.5M for industrial park infrastructure development

(MENAFN) Qom province in Iran has spent around USD12.5 million for the development of infrastructures in its industrial parks since the beginning of the current Iranian calendar year, according to Akbar Ebdali, the head of the province's Industry, Mining, and Trade. He also revealed that the figure is expected to exceed USD17.5 million by the end of the year. Qom's industrial parks are highly attractive to investors and entrepreneurs due to their excellent facilities for creating production units, proximity to Iran's capital and major markets, and access to the country's communication highways. Therefore, the development of infrastructure in these parks is essential for their growth and success.

Furthermore, Qom has managed to revive 44 idle production units during the current Iranian calendar year, creating direct employment for 600 individuals, according to Mohsen Omidian, the deputy governor-general of Qom for economic affairs coordination. Reviving idle production units is currently the government's primary approach in the industry sector, as per Ali Rasoulian, the head of Iran Small Industries and Industrial Parks Organization (ISIPO). The government is actively working with the private sector to resolve production units' issues, with good planning already underway.

Rasoulian also highlighted two major programs of the Ministry of Industry, Mining and Trade in relation to industrial parks, which are providing infrastructure and supporting small businesses and enterprises. In terms of infrastructure development, 2,023 projects related to water, electricity, and gas supply are ongoing in different parts of the country. The Iran Small Industries and Industrial Parks Organization and its affiliated provincial companies currently operate 509 industrial parks and 340 industrial zones and five special economic zones, 85 specialized industrial parks and zones, six technology parks, 40 technology and business service centers, and two information technology and software service complexes. As of now, 100,058 contracts have been concluded, and the operation of 49,882 industrial units and 3,270 workshops have provided direct employment for 998,595 people across the country.
