Tourism Minister, Tourist Transport Association Discuss Bolstering Sector


(MENAFN- Jordan Times) AMMAN - Tourism Minister Makram Queisi on Saturday met with the president and members of the Tourist Transport Association, as well as the president and members of the Sector Skills Council for Tourism and Hospitality, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

During the meeting, Queisi stressed that tourist transport is considered an essential pillar in the Jordanian tourism industry, praising the association's role within the sector.

Queisi affirmed the ministry's keenness to enhance the competitiveness of tourist transport and provide the Kingdom's visitors the best services by offering modern transport systems.

Head of the Tourism Transport Association, Abdel Sattar Abu Hassan, extended his appreciation to the ministry for supporting and facilitating the tourism transport sector's work.

Queisi also lauded the efforts of the Sector Skills Council for Tourism and Hospitality, and all partners who build employee's capabilities, improve operational efficiency, empower professionals in the tourism and hospitality industry and achieve sustainable development for the sector.

He also stressed the importance of consolidating Jordan's position as a global tourist destination, by providing high quality hospitality services to visitors during each stage of their visit to the Kingdom.

Head of the Sector Skills Council for Tourism and Hospitality, Muhammad Qasim, said that the council is currently developing a strategy for 2023-2025 to strengthen tourism sector employees' skills in coordination with the Ministry of Tourism, and with the support of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
