Milley: Significant Quantities Of Battlefield Capabilities Pledged To Ukraine

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) Partners within the Ukraine Defense Contact Group pledged to provide significant quantities of battlefield capabilities to Ukraine in recent months.

'In recent months, the Group that gathered here today pledged to provide significant quantities of battlefield capabilities: tanks, air defense, ammunitions. Eleven countries pledged tanks, 22 – pledged infantry fighting vehicles, 16 – pledged artillery ammunitions, and nine more pledged air defense artillery,' Mark Milley, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the United States said at a press conference in Brussels on Tuesday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

He expressed his belief that the Armed Forces will use the capabilities of tanks and infantry fighting vehicles, as well as artillery, to achieve an efficient result on the battlefield.

At the same time, Milley praised the 'incredible resourcefulness' demonstrated by the Ukrainian military in adapting to changing dynamics on the battlefield. According to the American military commander, the Ukrainians combined unbreakable will with innovative tactics.

Instead, Russia, which has already launched an offensive, shows very slow progress in Donbas, the morale of the Russian troops is poor, and the command is not very good. Milley stated that Russia is waging a war of attrition with a large number of losses. But the Russian Federation has human resources, and the mobilized continue to arrive at the front, he said.

At the same time, the U.S. general emphasized that Russia has become a 'global pariah.'

'In short, Russia has lost. It lost strategically, operationally, and tactically. And they are paying an enormous price on the battlefield,' he emphasized.

Milley assured that the international community will continue to support Ukraine by providing it with the necessary capabilities.

'Ukraine does not stand alone. Fifty-four countries met today to ensure that Ukraine can defend itself and the principles that guide international conduct are upheld,' he emphasized.
