Oman Delegation Learns Qatar's Experience In Traffic Congestion Management


(MENAFN- Gulf Times) The General Directorate of Traffic officials and an Omani delegation on Tuesday discussed the ways to manage traffic congestion. According to a statement from the Ministry of Interior (MoI), the meeting discussed the ways to enhance cooperation, exchange bilateral experiences and learn about the experience of Qatar.
The Omani delegation was received at the General Directorate of Traffic office and the meeting held in the presence of Brig. Mohamed Abdullah al-Shahwani, acting director General of Traffic. The Omani delegation was represented by the State Council members engineer Mohamed bin Ahmed al-Lamki and Dr Maryam Bint Abdullah al-Awadia.
Advisor Hamid bin Abdullah Aideed, deputy ambassador of Oman to Qatar and Brig Nasser Dorman al-Hajri, assistant director General of Traffic, some department directors, representatives from the Public Works Authority (Ashghal) and the National Traffic Safety Committee were present.
The delegation discussed many topics related to the successful experience of Qatar in traffic congestion. The Omani delegation also explained about the current plans and programmes that the authorities concerned in the country are working on to address traffic congestion problems based on their specific terms of reference and the solutions, alternatives and recommendations they propose.
