Turkey’s daily electricity usage drops by 9.86 percent on Feb. 5


(MENAFN) Based on the official data released on Monday by the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS), daily electricity usage in Turkey declined by 9.86 percent on Sunday in comparison to the day before, standing at 804,856 megawatts per hours.

According to TEIAS figures, the nation's electricity consumption peaked at 38,665 megawatts per hours per hour at 8 p.m. regional time (1700 GMT) and fell to 29,179 megawatts per hours per hour at 6 a.m. regional time.

On Sunday, 895,042 megawatts per hours of electricity were produced, a 10 percent reduction from Saturday.

Lignite and natural gas factories contributed by 17.9 percent and 16.6 percent of the total generation, correspondingly, whereas imported coal factories comprised by 26.8 percent of it.

The nation's electricity exports on Sunday were 8,457 megawatts per hours, while its imports were 27,706 megawatts per hours.
