Uzbekistan's economy rises 5.7 percent last year


(MENAFN) Uzbekistan's economy saw a surge of 5.7 percent on a yearly basis as of last year, as shown by official data indicated on Monday.

Industrial production grew 5.2 percent in the nation as of 2022, whereas services expanded 15.9 percent as well as construction saw an increase of 6.6 percent, as they were shadowed by agriculture-forestry-fishery by 3.6 percent, freight transportation by 0.5 percent, and passenger transportation increased by 5 percent.

Retail sales were recorded 12.3 percent higher in the Central Asian nation last year on a yearly basis.

Uzbekistan's overall foreign exchange volume jumped 18.6 percent last year in comparison with the prior year, the shipment amount climbed 15.9 percent and the import volume soared 20.4 percent.

Its economy, which surged on an average of 5 to 6 percent on yearly basis before the COVID-19 epidemic, registered a surge of 1.6 percent in 2020 and 7 percent in the following year.

The nation’s yearly inflation stood at 12.3 percent in 2022.
