(MENAFN) All five nations of Central Asia have joined the increasing chorus of censures of Friday’s invasions on the Azerbaijani Embassy in Iran’s capital Tehran, which murdered one person and wounded two others.
Uzbekistan’s Acting Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov sent his condolences to Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov in a phone conversation on Saturday.
A Foreign Ministry declaration read Uzbekistan “strongly condemns the armed attack” and sends its “deepest condolences to the families of the deceased and wish a speedy recovery to the injured.”
“We hope that all those responsible will be brought to justice following a thorough investigation of this incident,” the declaration also read.
In a separate declaration, Turkmenistan’s Foreign Ministry also condemned the invasion on the Azerbaijani mission.
“Turkmenistan declares the inadmissibility of attacks on diplomatic missions and the use of any violence against the personnel of diplomatic departments,” in agreement with the declaration.
