QREC Chairman Praises Organization Of Sheikh Joaan Bin Hamad Al-Thani Rifle Race

Doha: The Chairman of Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club (QREC), Issa bin Mohammed Al Mohannadi, expressed his happiness of the great success achieved by horse race on a rifle and the prizes of HE sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al-Thani, which was organized by the club on Saturday.

In statement, Al Mohannadi said that the race was distinguished and the competition was strong. In addition, the vibes were splendid in light of the public's interest in horse activity and racing, pointing out that the winning of Al-Wasmiya Farm and Wathnan Racing were expected, as they have been achieving several titles in local and international races.

'Qatari horses have become very competitive on a global level thanks to strong competition and the development of local races, and this is an indication that the level of racing in Qatar is strong, and the evidence is that the horses that come out here win and earn strong runs abroad,' he said.

The Acting Executive Director of (QREC), Badr bin Muhammad Al Darwish, emphasized in a similar statement that the race indicates that HH the Amir Sword Festival will be so strong, especially since the club has prepared for this very well, pointing out that the financial prizes have increased to a total value of nearly $10 million.

He revealed that the festival will witness a great participation from outside Qatar, noting the preparation of a number of accompanying programs and activities.

The CEO of Qatar Media Corporation (QMC), H E Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Thani Al-Thani, praised the strong competitions of the race.

Sheikh Abdulaziz added that the organizational level of this race is good, and this indicates that Qatar is always special in organizing sporting events, as well as the vibes were so good, whether at the level of competitions or activities attended and enjoyed by the public in all different groups.

He emphasized that the strong competition of the race motivates riders to do their bests in HH the Amir Sword Festival.

HE Sheikh Al Qaqa bin Hamad Al-Thani awarded the top winners of the 9th and 10th rounds of 31st race meeting of HE President of Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al-Thani's Rifle and Prizes.

The Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club (QREC) is organizing the competition on the turf track of Al Rayyan racecourse, where 139 of the best horses competed for prizes amounting up to $550,000.

His Excellency also crowned Mohammed Kaman Al Khayarin as first place winner in the heritage race.

The tenth and main race witnessed great excitement and a strong competition amongst three horses all the way until the finish line.
