Doha: Qatar Science and technology Secondary School for Boys (QSTSS) was awarded the Distinguished School Award as part of Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Matkoum Foundation Awards for outstanding educational performance in the Gulf for the twenty-fifth session of the current academic year 2022.
Mohamad Ali Mandani Al Emadi, Director of Qatar Science and Technology Secondary School for Boys, expressed his delight at the school receiving this award for the second year in a row at the Gulf level, emphasising that receiving the award demonstrates the school's academic and administrative excellence, as well as its ability to compete regionally and internationally.

In this regard, he stated that the award is based on many difficult international standards, particularly since many of the award's standards were developed this year, making winning this edition evidence of the academic system's strength in the winning schools, indicating that these standards include aspects of planning and administrative organisation, school community quality, leadership and learner care, and student academic results and achievements.
He explained that the developed school building at Qatar School of Science and Technology is based on the most recent international educational systems,
It also has eleven laboratories that specialise in science, technology, mathematics, physics, and chemistry. It also has a carefully selected teaching staff, as all teachers in the school have at least a master's degree in all disciplines in which they work. In addition to the interaction of parents with the educational process in the school and their participation in all events and activities, it is important to note that parental participation and the relationship with society and partners is an important part of the criteria for the award in terms of the quality of the school community.
The Director of QSTSS stated that receiving the award is not an end goal in itself, but rather an invitation to continue the development process and take the lead in developing the educational work of the school, continue to excel and work to produce national cadres capable of realising the vision of wise leadership that prioritises investment in national cadres.
Al Emadi thanked and appreciated the leaders of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education for their ongoing support of the school and its national cadres, where the leaders of the Ministry of Education put the development of the educational process in mind, pointing out that winning the award reflects the extent of the Ministry's interest in the importance of external and internal competitions, including supporting students' intellectual and competitive skills, as well as encouraging other classmates to participate in these competitions and spreading their enthusiasm.
The school also won 'Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum' Award for Distinguished Academic Performance - Distinguished School Category 2021/2022, and“Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum” Award for Distinguished Academic Performance - Distinguished Student Category 2021/2022, as the award is considered one of the most distinguished educational awards in the Gulf region and the Middle East, which is witnessing the competition of a large number of schools in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.
