Türkiye will boost up tourism sector, Erdogan says

(MENAFN) Türkiye is witnessing high figures in tourism sector regardless of the outcome from the worldwide pandemic, in agreement with the country’s leader on Tuesday.

"Although we paused during the global pandemic period, we are all experiencing the peak point of our country in terms of both the number of tourists and tourism revenues," Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced at the 7th Ordinary General Assembly of the Turkish Hoteliers Federation in the capital Ankara.

Erdogan also said that Türkiye became fourth place in the world in terms of the total of travelers last year and to eighth place in tourism incomes, which he called an indication that the country will improve more in 2022.

He added that Türkiye is appropriate for the improvement and expansion of the tourism sector with all its areas and cities.

"In this period where our competitors in tourism have lost momentum due to the effects of the global crisis, our way to rise to the world leadership is clear by working much harder," the president went on to note.
