India's International Trade Fair Awards Afghanistan Gold Medal

The embassy of Afghanistan in India stated that Afghanistan was awarded a gold medal in the foreign sector by the India International Trade Fair (IITF) 2022 participated by 17 foreign countries.

The 15-day IITF 2022 came to an end on November 27 on a Sunday. After the Covid-19 pandemic, the annual trade show was held for the first time by the India Trade Promotion Organization (ITPO), a division of the Indian Commerce Ministry.

According to a statement released by the Afghan Embassy in New Delhi, the Indian capital, products from 17 different countries and Indian states were on display at the
exhibition, with over 2,500 domestic and foreign exhibitors.

The Afghan Embassy in Delhi announced that this year's grand exhibition was termed“Little India” because it was the first time that millions of Indians during the exhibition's 15-day run following Covid-19
restrictions.

According to embassy authorities, this year's expo included a field for Afghan goods and products, including carpets, handicrafts, fresh and dried
fruits, semi-precious stones, Afghan sweets, and other merchandise by Afghan traders.

According to the announcement from the Afghan embassy, the evaluation committee, which included professors from Indian universities, industrialists, and media representatives, released the results of its 15-day review of this show on Sunday.

Afghanistan received the Gold Medal in the Foreign Sector, Thailand received the Silver, Turkiye received the Bronze, and Bahrain was given a Special Appreciation Certificate.

The Afghan ambassador to India, Farid Mamundzay, who was appointed to this position by the overthrown government, believes that the Afghan high-quality products have drawn visitors' attention to the goods in this exhibition.

The envoy for the former Afghan government stressed
that by utilizing India's agricultural infrastructure, Afghanistan will be
able to connect
products to global markets.
