Kuwaiti Athlete Wins Silver At Asian Open Judo Tourney


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) BEIRUT, Nov 26 (KUNA) -- The Kuwaiti athlete Mishal Al-Ali grabbed a silver medal on Saturday, the opening day of the Asian Open Men and Women 2022 championship.
Al-Ali beat Michael Kerkmaz, of Lebanon, in the first round of the -60kg category, and won another encounter against Sulaiman Al-Refai, Syria.
However, he lost the third round to his Cypriot rival who won the gold medal.
The Championship is organized by the Lebanese Judo Federation (LJF) in coordination with the Judo Union of Asia in Zouk Mikael town, Lebanon, on November 26-27.
LIF President Saade Francois, said in statements to KUNA that the international event gathered athletes from 18 Asian, European and African countries. (end)
