(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) BEIRUT, Nov 23 (KUNA) -- An Arab parliamentary group condemned on Wednesday comments by a European Union (EU) executive on Kuwait, in which he implied that recent executions carried out there could affect plans to grant Kuwaitis visa-free travel to the EU.
Slamming the remarks as an attempt to 'conceal the truth,' the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union said the comments are tantamount to 'meddling in Kuwait's internal affairs,' which could be detrimental to Kuwaiti-EU relations.
EU executives should steer clear of any attempt to interfere in the internal affairs of countries 'under the cloak' of human rights concerns, the bloc said in a statement, underlining its support for Kuwait's political leadership and its 'prominent role' on regional and global levels. (end)
