Centre Calls Back Kansal From J&K

Posted As Additional Secretary In Union Textile Ministry

Srinagar- Rohit Kansal, Principal Secretary, Information and Higher Education department in Jammu and Kashmir administration will proceed on central deputation after being posted by the government of India as additional secretary in Union Textile Ministry.

Kansal's transfer was ordered by the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT) in an order issued Saturday. The Appointment Committee of Cabinet has posted Kansal, a 1995-batch IAS officer of Union Territory cadre, as additional secretary in Union Textiles Ministry.

Apart from Kansal, over two dozen IAS and IRS have been shifted by the DoPT.

After returning from central deputation in 2013, Kansal has held key posts in Jammu & Kashmir during his 9-year stint.

As administrative secretary of the Power Development Department, Kansal played a crucial role in augmenting and strengthening infrastructure in the sector in both Kashmir and Jammu.

He played a key role in the implementation of the Government's initiative to reach out to the people at the grassroots level through a programme named as 'Back to Village”.
