Der Spiegel: German electric vehicle transition poses risk

(MENAFN) According to a Friday article in Der Spiegel, the present energy crisis in Europe might hinder the growth of electric mobility in Germany and turn off potential buyers.

Based on the publication, charging an electric car might sometimes cost more than filling up a gasoline or diesel vehicle due to the rising cost of power. According to the newspapers, the combustion engine is more than euro30 cheaper each month on average with a mileage of 15,000 kilometers. According to Ferdinand Dudenhoeffer of the Center for Automotive Research, an e-car should "clearly be at a disadvantage" by the end of the next year, according to Der Spiegel.

The state's incentives for purchasing electric automobiles were also 25 percent lower. The buyer is going to receive a lower incentive than they anticipated because of the nearly one-year wait for an ordered electric car to arrive, the outlet claims, adding that there is no longer any governmental support for hybrid vehicles.
