Why Lyricist Krish Chhetri Likes Tihar Festival

(MENAFN- Mero Solution) Tihar is a Hindu festival which is celebrated five-day in Nepal. The traditional songs that are sung during the festival of Tihar in Nepal is Bhailo and Deusi. Tihar is also known as Deepawali. It is Festival of light. It is the second greatest festival of Nepal. Tihar is worshiping of different animals such as cow, crow, dog, etc. During the festival all the houses in the city and village are decorated with oil lamps and candles to make it bright at night. Thus during the night the entire village and city looks like a sparkling diamond.

Krish Chhetri, a lyricist/songwriter of nepali music industry says, "Tihar is my favourite festival." He adds, " We share love to our siblings, we play 'Deusi Bhailo' in the village with dancing, singing, and reciting 'Deusire' with joy and pleasure." Krish Chhetri becomes nostalgic by remembering the celebration of Tihar festival in his childhood days. Krish Chhetri becomes more happy when Tihar festival comes.

Krish Chhetri is very popular songwriter of Nepal. He has written a lots of songs. He is very emotional person. He remembers his childhood friend in every year when tihar comes. He cries remembering his childhood days. He loves Tihar. He says " when I was child, I used to love Tihar festival since we can gather money in Tihar by playing Deusi Bhailo but in nowadays I love tihar since I understood its significance." He adds, “Tihar used to be more joyful during childhood than in recent times.”

During Dashain Tihar’s vacation, Krish used to get plenty of homework from the school, but to enjoy Tihar freely, he used to complete them before Dashain. But, he finds Dashain and Tihar these days so boring that it does not deserve counting down the days.

For Chhetri, Tihar used to be all about travelling, eating, playing dice (jhanda -burja), Deusi Bhailo, singing and dancing. But, now things are different for him. “I miss the Tihar of those good old days,” he says.

Similar to many others, for Chhetri too, Tihar used to be about wearing new clothes. He and his friends used to make plans about buying new clothes for Tihar. Chhetri used to be sad whenever his friends bought a new clothes before him and would show them to him.

Afterwards, he used to cry and ask his parents to buy him new clothes immediately.

“In childhood, getting the new clothes used to give the next level of happiness,” says Chhetri. “Most of the time, my parents used to buy T-shirt for me.”

After wearing a new clothes, he used to roam around the village to show his new clothes to his friends.

Krish Chhetri wonders why Tihar is not the same as it used to be.
