(MENAFN- KNN India) IITs focus on bridging gap between Institute and industry

Hyderabad, Oct 8 (KNN) All the 23 Indian Institutes of technology (IIT) in India are working towards creating a better connection between the institute and industry. 

This was informed by Director of Indian Institute of Technology-Hyderabad (IIT-H) Prof BS Murty. 

He said that unlike foreign institutes such as MIT, industry and institutes in India do not have much of a relation.

While foreign institutions have a good connection with the industry where majority of investments into the institutes come fr0m the industry.

The Director said only 10 per cent of investment was coming fr0m industry to IITs in India while foreign institutes were getting over 33 percent of investments fr0m industry.

IIT managements have constituted a steering committee that decided to put up an exhibition with the innovations of IITians. 

The committee has selected some 75 to 80 innovations fr0m the 23 institutes that will be exhibited in IIT-Delhi on October 14 and 15. (KNN Bureau)
