Turkey’s daily electricity usage drops by 1.28 percent on Oct. 5


(MENAFN) Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) data released on Thursday shows that daily electricity usage in Turkey on Wednesday was 861,838 megawatts per hours, down 1.28 percent from the day before.

According to TEIAS figures, the peak hourly power demand was 40,461 megawatts per hours at 15:00 regional time (1200 GMT). At 5:00 a.m. regional time, the nation's power consumption reached its lowest point of 29,743 megawatts per hours (0200 GMT).

On Wednesday, 861,802 megawatts per hours of electricity were produced, which is a 1.71 percent reduction from Tuesday.

Natural gas power factories comprised by 23.1 percent of the entire amount of electricity, whereas imported coal and wind power factories constituted by 22.5 percent and 17.5 percent, correspondingly.

Electricity exports and imports for the day totaled 6,062 and 6,099 megawatts per hours, respectively.
