Doha: The Qatari Businessmen Association (QBA) has met with US Women's Global Initiative delegation, during a business dinner organised in cooperation with the Qatari Embassy in Washington. The dinner was also joined by board members of the Qatari Businesswomen Association (QBWA).
The US delegation was headed by Marcia Dyson, founder and CEO of the initiative and included a group of prominent women and business entrepreneurs in the United States and aimed at creating different communication channels and exploring new areas for cooperation.
From QBA, the dinner was attended by Sheikh Nawaf bin Nasser Al Thani, QBA Board member and other QBA members including Sheikh Mohamed bin Faisal Al Thani, Salah Al Jaidah, Khalid Al Mannai, Ashraf Abu Issa and Yousef Al Mahmoud, as well as Sarah Abdullah, QBA Deputy GM. The QBWA also participated in the meeting, with board members Awatif Al Dafaa, Amal Al Athem, Natra Saeed, Mashael Al Ansari, in addition to Jiskala Khalayli, the Executive Director of the Association.
As for the US delegation, it included a group of distinguished women in the fields of advertising, media and public relations, in addition to education, marketing and design.
During the meeting, Dyson expressed her happiness with the meeting, and referred to the strength of the Qatari-US relations and the need to change the traditional existing strategic partnership between the two countries and constantly work to explore new innovative opportunities for cooperation to include all sectors. She added that the visit was aimed at exchanging views and ideas on how to develop these relations.
Sheikh Nawaf welcomed the delegation, stressing out the importance of American investments and creating new partnerships, given the expertise and global competitive advantages that Qatari companies enjoy and the capabilities that qualify them to attract American investors to their markets.

Sheikh Mohammed also welcomed the guests, highlighting the importance of supporting women and entrepreneurs through marketing and promoting their businesses and facilitating ways to develop their projects, praising the need to continue creating channels of communication with the different countries.
During the event, discussions on the role of the private sector in supporting the national economy were discussed, stressing out the need to establish partnerships and exploit investment opportunities in global markets.
