550 aircraft will be in civil aviation fleet in ten years
(MENAFN) According to the head of Iran's Civil Aviation Agency (CAO), the country is going to have 550 passenger aircraft during the next ten years thanks to a thorough program that his organization is putting into action.
Mohammad Mohammadi-Bakhsh remarked during a meeting with the nation's top aviation authorities on the occasion of Government Week: “Under the framework of this program, fleet expansion up to 550 airplanes, repairing airplane parts and indigenizing the knowledge for the construction of aircraft inside the country are set on the agenda.”
Mohammadi-Bakhsh also mentioned, “following President Raisi's orders, we have focused all our efforts on a few areas, including buying airplanes, manufacturing airplanes, and repairing grounded airplanes. We need 550 airplanes to meet the country’s air transportation demands.”
According to the source, the government has permitted the private sector to buy small planes and operate them as a part of the nation's civil aviation fleet based on the aforementioned scheme.
