Russian Defense Ministry reports blast at ammunition depot in Crimea


(MENAFN) The Russian Defense Ministry reported on Tuesday a blast at a missiles depot in Crimea.

"On the morning of Aug. 16, as a result of sabotage, a military warehouse was damaged in the area of the settlement of Dzhankoy," as stated by the ministry.

In line with the ministry, the blast destroyed civilian objects, in addition to electricity lines, power plants, railway tracks, and residential buildings.

The incident did not leave deaths or severe wounds, the ministry declared.

"There are no seriously injured. The necessary measures are being taken to eliminate the consequences of the sabotage," based on the declaration.

Earlier, the Defense Ministry reported that at about 06.15 AM local time (0315GMT), a fire took place in the area of the settlement of Mayskoye (Dzhankoy area of Crimea) on the land of a temporary ammunition depot of one of the military units.
