Narcotic Capsules Hidden In Children's Toys Seized By Qatar Customs
Doha: The Postal Consignments Customs Department at the Air Cargo and Private Airports Customs thwarted an attempt to smuggle narcotic capsules into Qatar.
In a social media post, Customs stated that the narcotic capsules were found inside a shipment of children's toys. A total of 560 capsules were seized, in addition to 289 capsules of another type.
'It should be noted that the General Authority of Customs is continuing to tighten customs control over all imports and exports and to combat smuggling in all its forms, stressing that it is making every efforts to detect and thwart any attempt at customs smuggling, in addition to its keenness to achieve cooperation and coordination with the relevant authorities,' Customs captioned in an Instagram post.
Last week, Customs authorities at Hamad International Airport also thwarted an attempt to smuggle narcotic hashish into the country. The banned substance was found inside a carton for one of the passengers arriving in Qatar.
