Turkey’s daily energy usage rises by 2.88 percent on Aug. 3


(MENAFN) Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) data released on Thursday shows that daily electricity usage in Turkey grew by 2.88 percent on Wednesday in comparison to the day before, standing at 1.07 million megawatts per hours.

According to TEIAS statistics, the peak hourly power usage was 51,191 megawatts per hours at 03:00 regional time (1200 GMT). At 7:00 a.m. regional time, the nation's power consumption reached its lowest point of 35,343 megawatts per hours (0400 GMT).

On Wednesday, 1.06 million megawatts per hours of electricity were produced, an increase of 2.91 percent over Tuesday.

Natural gas power factories comprised by 24 percent of the entire amount of energy produced, whereas imported coal power factories and hydroelectricity factories constituted by 20.7 percent and 15.8 percent, correspondingly.

The nation's electrical exports on Wednesday were 9,439 megawatts per hours, while its imports were 17,939 megawatts per hours.
