LP Gas Declared An Essential Item

Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LP Gas) has been declared an essential item.
The Minister of Trade, Commerce and Food Security Naleen Fernando has issued a gazette notice declaring LP Gas an essential item.
The gazette states that the Minister is of the opinion that LP Gas is essential to the life of the community having consulted the Consumer Affairs Authority.
As a result LP Gas has been declared an essential item under Section 18 of the Consumer Affairs Authority Act, No. 09 of 2003 (Amended) with effect from 08th July 2022 midnight. (Colombo Gazette)
