Court Refuses To Issue Order Against Go Home Gota Protests

The court has refused to issue an order against the 'Go Home Gota' protests scheduled to take place on 8th and 9th July.

The Police had sought a court order against the protesters from entering the vicinity of the President's House in Fort.

However, the Colombo Magistrate's Court refused to issue the order.

The Magistrate said that the Police have the authority to take action if the protesters violate the law.

A mass protest is scheduled to take place at Galle Face on Saturday.

Smaller protests are also scheduled to take place in Colombo tomorrow (Friday). (Colombo Gazette)
