Roma, Celik reach agreement on 4-year contract


(MENAFN) The Italian giants Roma confirmed on Tuesday that they have signed a four-year deal with Turkish fullback Zeki Celik.

Celik stated after the signing event that "It's an honor for me to play for such a big club; I have big ambitions and I want to help this team be successful.”

Adding "I feel focused and ready – I will never let up and you will always see me fighting for everything out there on the pitch."

He previously played for Bursaspor, Karacabeyspor, as well as Istanbulspor in Turkey before transferring to France 4 years ago to play with Lille.

Celik, who got eight goals under his name in 143 appearances for Lille, and was a key part to help his team achieve the French Ligue 1 cup and the French Super Cup in the 2020-21 season.

The 25-year-old played 32 matches for the Turkish national team, and netting two goals.
He is going to wear the No. 19 jersey for the Italian club.
