Luxury Chinese Brand Hongqi Launched In Qatar

Pioneer Motors Company, a subsidiary of Almana Group, has officially launched luxury Chinese automotive brand Hongqi in Qatar, in conjunction with the inauguration of the brand's showroom on Salwa Road.
The launch ceremony was attended by Almana Group managing director (Automobiles) Bader al-Mana, Chinese ambassador to Qatar Zhou Jian, other envoys and a number of businesspersons, VIPS and dignitaries.



The brand was introduced to Qatar through a soft launch phase five months ago, and it won the favour of customers and luxury car lovers during this period, recording considerable sales and winning prizes, a press statement noted.
Addressing attendees at the launch ceremony, al-Mana expressed appreciation for the co-operation with automaker FAW Car Company Limited, a subsidiary of FAW Group, the owner of the Hongqi brand, as Pioneer Motors Company was selected by FAW to be its official dealer in Qatar.
This is in line with the strategy of Almana Group in launching modern luxury brands that respond to the expectations of clients in the Qatari market.

Al-Mana noted that Hongqi's E-HS9 'is an automobile of the future'.

FAW Import and Export Company Ltd chairman Yang Dayong gave a brief presentation to introduce FAW Group and the Hongqi brand.



He stressed his appreciation for the brand's presence in the Qatar market, through Pioneer Motors Company and Almana Group – with its long history of providing excellent sales and after-sales services for vehicles in Qatar.
Yang further stressed that Hongqi vehicles aim to achieve the brand's motto of being the future of vehicle luxury.
'The partnership Almana Group has with Hongqi is built on mutual respect and an unrelenting desire for success,” Almana Group product and marketing manager Amer Hassan said.“We are two companies that were born in the same decade. And we share a common mindset of excellence.”



“In 1958, when Hongqi's first car was being produced in China, Almana Group had already established itself in Qatar,” he said.“And here we are today, jointly and proudly launching a line of premier automobiles and introducing them to the Qatar market.'
Hassan said that the Hongqi H9 won the award for best value luxury sedan in the Qatar market for its exquisite design and high-quality specifications.

The event saw the launch of a number of Hongqi models with various specifications and features that will be considered a unique addition to the local market.

* Hongqi H9:
The H9 comes with a 2-litre turbocharged gasoline engine plus a 48V mild hybrid system with 185kW (252hp), or a 3-litre supercharged gasoline engine with 208kW (283hp).
Both variants have rear-wheel drive and a 7-speed dual clutch transmission.
It has keyless entry, multiple remote-control functions and easy operation with the mobile phone.
The vehicle offers luxurious seats with the multi-function control eliminating journey exhaustion.

* Hongqi H5:
The 1.8-litre turbo comes with a 48V mild hybrid system producing 197hp (147kW; 200PS) and 320Nm of torque, while the transmission is a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
The Hongqi H5 Sports features more aggressive front and rear bumpers, a reworked grille, glossy black trim parts, boot-mounted spoiler, and quad exhaust tips.

* Hongqi HS7:
The HS7 is powered by a 3.0-litre supercharged engine producing 337hp and 445Nm, mated to an Aisin 8-speed automatic gearbox.
The 0-100kph (0-62mph) acceleration time is 7.8 seconds.
For the 2021 model year, a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine producing 252hp and 380Nm, mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox, was added to the product line.
The vehicle enjoys constant breakthroughs with professional off-road performance powered by the TCS all-wheel power control technology exclusively customised by Bosch.
The new generation of 8-speed AT gearbox provides a comfortable driving experience and excellent fuel economy.

* Hongqi HS5:
The HS5 is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine with a maximum power output of 165kW (221hp), mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission.
It has five driving modes (economy, comfort, sport, off-road, and snow), co-ordinating with the intelligent damping control suspension system that provides a pleasant driving experience.

* Hongqi E-HS9
The E-HS9 is an electric full-size luxury SUV, equipped with an intelligent sensor steering wheel and six smart screens.
It is capable of functions such as AR (augmented reality) real scene navigation and remote vehicle control by mobile phone, including unlocking, temperature regulation, smart voice control and vehicle locating.
The vehicle has powerful, high-capacity batteries, and offers high performance and durability.
