
Kahandagama Remanded Over Attack On Peaceful Protesters
Colombo Municipal Council member Mahinda Kahandagama has been remanded over the 9th May attacks on peaceful protesters at Galle Face and near Temple Trees.
Kahandagama was arrested yesterday and was produced before the Colombo Fort Magistrate's Court today.
The court ordered that he be remanded till 8th June over the incident.
Kahandagama surrendered to the Criminal Investigations Department yesterday after being named as a suspect over the incident.
Peaceful protesters were attacked at Galle Face and near Temple Trees on the 9th of May.
The attack had taken place following a meeting at Temple Trees attended by Fernando and a number of other Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) MPs. (Colombo Gazette)
