Legal Affairs Minister Receives World Bank Resident Representative

Amman, May 10 (Petra)-- Minister of State for Legal Affairs, Wafa Bani Mustafa, on Tuesday received resident representative of the World Bank Group in Jordan, Holly Benner.
The meeting covered the importance of enhancing women's economic participation, especially women working in agriculture, and the importance of providing an appropriate environment for them.
Bani Mustafa, who is also Chairman of the Ministerial Committee for Women Empowerment, underlined the need to develop opportunities to involve women more effectively in business and to reflect the superiority of women in academic levels on the labor market.
She pointed out to the importance of amending legislation in order to create a more suitable work environment for women, with an emphasis on following up on the implementation of legislation.
Both officials discussed ways to benefit from experts at the World Bank to present studies to enhance Jordan's ranking on global indicators and reports with regard to women's issues, especially those issued by the World Bank Group.
The meeting was attended by the advisor of the Women's Empowerment Program in the Levant, Nour Al-Maghraby.
