Amman, April 20 (Petra) -- The Turkish authorities Wednesday announced that a person was killed and 4 others were wounded in an improvised explosive device attack, which targeted a bus transporting prison guards in the northwestern Turkish city of Bursa.

Anadolu Agency cited Bursa governor Yaqub Janbulat as saying that he believed the explosion was caused by an improvised explosive device, noting that the identity of the bomber has not yet been identified.

He explained that the bomb was placed next to an electricity pole and detonated remotely as the bus carrying prison guards passed by, adding that one of the injured was in critical condition, while the rest were later on discharged from the hospital.

Turkish Minister of Justice Bekir Bozdag said that the competent authorities are conducting the necessary investigations into the incident.
