QU signs MoU with Mogadishu University

Qatar University (QU) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Mogadishu University, a leading higher education institution in Somalia, to establish joint co-operation covering different, scientific, administrative, technical and research areas. QU president Dr Hassan al-Derham and chairman of the Board of Trustees of Mogadishu University, Dr Abdurahman Moallim Abdullahi signed the agreement in the QU campus. The MoU will pave the way for the two parties to collaborate in the area of graduate programmes and exchange experiences and information such as newsletters, journals, studies, statistics and other data. In addition, the two institutions aim to conduct studies, hold conferences, meetings and trainings as well as offer scholarships for outstanding postgraduate students from the University of Mogadishu to prepare them as faculty members. QU intends to support Mogadishu University with various educational equipment and help in promoting Arabic language programmes in Somalia, which the Mogadishu University gives priority to in all its programmes.
