Qatar University holds annual alumni reunion

Doha: Qatar University (QU) in collaboration with QU Alumni Association (QUAA) organised its annual alumni reunion event for 2022. The ceremony was attended by a number of honorary guests, senior officials from the university and outside, faculty members and university employees as well as QU alumni. 

The ceremony organised“Coffee with an Alumnus” which was hosted by the Minister of Social Development and Family, H E Mariam bint Ali bin Nasser Al Misnad.

The ceremony included several sessions, including presentation of a documentary on Alumni Club and Association and their success stories of 20 years. It also honoured the distinguished alumni chapter of the College of Pharmacy for the year 2019-2020 and Chapter of Bio-Education for the year 2020-2021. 

A film was shown about the late Afghan ambassador - Abdul Hakim Dalili premiered. The former QU graduate's family was honoured during the event. 

In his opening speech, H E Dr. Mohamed bin Saleh Al Sada, QUAA President, said,“Year after year, the alumni association has put in consistent effort.

Today's gathering is significant because it honours Qatar University graduates by bringing them together under one roof and sharing memories from our university days. The association has played a significant role in reuniting graduates with their universities in recent years, and this event is an opportunity to express our gratitude to all alumni association staff. The members of this organisation have continued to work hard to bring us all together and to preserve our excitement. I'd also like to express my gratitude to Qatar University's Board of Trustees for their unwavering support for our organization, of which I will always be a part.”

Mohamed Al Mohannadi, Director of Outreach and Engagement & Director of Qatar University President Office said,“This reunion ceremony is the product of all officials' combined efforts, which made it possible once more. Qatar University Alumni Association strives to reunite graduates and bring them together on an annual basis to benefit from their knowledge and experiences gained from their various job places.”

Buthaina Ibrahim Langhawi, Manager of Alumni Relations, said:“The office collaborated with other departments to plan this major yearly ceremony and oversaw all efforts to make it a success. Every graduate looks forward to seeing their fellow grads at this momentous event. To reminisce about fond memories they shared during their academic years.”

She encouraged the graduates to participate in the Association's activities and its numerous branches in order to take advantage of all the benefits it offers to its members. 

Dr. Al Sada, President of Qatar University Alumni Association, was honoured at the end of the event.
