Jordan - Labor Minister opens new factory in Shoubak

Amman, Feb. 16 (Petra) -- Minister of labor Nayef Istitieh on Wednesday inaugurated a factory (production branch) in the Shoubak district, southern Jordan, providing 200 jobs for citizens of the district and the surrounding areas.
Istitieh said that the factory was opened in response to directives of his majesty King Abdullah to provide sustainable jobs for Jordanian youth in all districts and governorates of the Kingdom.
He added that the Ministry is working in a strategic partnership with the Jordan armed forces (JAF)- the Arab army and in coordination with other government entities to work as a unified ecosystem to overcome all challenges to provide permanent jobs for Jordanian youth in all governorates.
Istitieh indicated that this factory is among 32 production branches spread in all regions of the Kingdom, which are currently employ in real partnership with the private sector 8,600 Jordanian male and female workers.
JAF Director of Supplies and Equipment, Brigadier General Alaa Shbeilat, said that upon directives of His Majesty King Abdullah, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF), and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Maj. Gen. Yousef Huneiti, a strategic partnership is being implemented with the Labor Ministry to contribute to providing jobs for youth through such local investments.
Qustandi Yaghnum, General Manager of the El-Zay Company, investor and operator of the factory, said that the Shoubak production branch has provided 200 jobs for citizens of the area, stressing that the company intends to increase its production lines, in the next two years, to provide more jobs for Jordanians.
