Qatar - Civil Defence officers teach safety lessons to MES students

Doha: The Qatar Civil Defence Department in collaboration with MES Indian School organised a session on the topic, 'Use of Fire Extinguishers and General Fire Safety' recently.

Sara Iqbal and Eman Abdisala, Trainers, Safety and Security, Qatar Civil Defence Department, were the resource persons for the safety awareness programme which was conducted in three slots following the COVID-19 precautionary measures. 

A select few teachers and members of staff from admin, health, transport, housekeeping and maintenance departments along with the members of the school scouts and guides participated in the training cum awareness programme.

The trainers dealt with topics such as the duties and responsibilities of civilians at times of emergency, the fire triangle, general safety rules of alertness, the use of first aid, use of fire extinguishers at workplace, everyone's responsibilities within the community. 

The session also witnessed a Q&A segment in which the participants clarified their doubts regarding the safety measures at times of emergency especially arising out of fire breakout.

Hameeda Kadar, Principal, MES Indian School, while addressing the gathering, complimented the trainers for providing a great insight into the fire accidents and for having demonstrated preventive measures besides encouraging the members of scouts and guides to join the fire rescue team. 

The Section Heads and school officials were present on the occasion. 

Mohammed Rashid, Head of Admin and Facilities; Rajesh K S, Overall In-charge of Scouts and Guides and Fiona Mary D'cruz, Guides In-charge coordinated the event in association with the Fire and Safety Department of the school.
