John Milne

John's research is focussed in the area of literacy, and reading in particular. His own research is focussed on children's experience of reading and the development of different styles of reading. He aims to describe the lived experience of reading and relate that to our theoretical understanding of reading. His doctoral research developed a model of self-regulated reading comprehension and has resulted in narrative descriptions of a number of reading styles. Recently, an interest in reading for pleasure has has resulted in collaborative research in this area.
