(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Doha: Coach Felix Sanchez has announced a 27-member squad for Qatar's last two European Qualifiers for FIFA World Cup 2022.
Al Annabi, the only guest team at the UEFA qualifiers, will travel to Belgrade where they will take on hosts Serbia on November 11 in their penultimate Group A match at the Rajko Mitic Stadium. In their final group match, the Asian champions will face Azerbaijan at the Baku Olympic Stadium three days later.
In their 'home' matches which took place at the Nagyerdei Stadion in Debrecen, Hungary, Qatar had beaten Azerbaijan 2-1 before losing to Serbia 0-4.
The team, led by Hassan Al Haydos, started training yesterday under the watchful eyes of the Spaniard Sanchez ahead of their latest European assignment, and will leave for Belgrade on Tuesday. After the match against Serbia, Qatar will leave directly for Baku before returning to Qatar.
Upon their arrival in Doha, the team will intensify training ahead of the FIFA Arab Cup which will kick off on November 30.
Hosts Qatar will open their Arab Cup campaign on November 30 against Bahrain in Group A which also includes Iraq and Oman.
