Prominent Iraqi Shia politician warns against external interference
(MENAFN) Well-known Iraqi Shia politician Muqtada al-Sadr cautioned against external interference during the parliamentary elections in Iraq.
Al-Sadr wrote on Twitter that “The Iraqi elections are an internal affair. Neighboring countries and others should not interfere in the internal affairs, neither by carrots nor by sticks.”
In addition; Al-Sadr is going to retaliate “in the same way in the future," without giving names.
Observers declared that al-Sadr planned to neighbor Iran in his position as it supports his main adversary in the elections, the Al-Fatah alliance made up of Asa'ib Ahl al-Haq and Iraqi Hezbollah Shia factions.
