Chinese yuan toughens in the past week


(MENAFN) The China Foreign Exchange Trade System (CFETS) announced, China's yuan toughened in comparison to a basket of currencies in the past week.

On Monday, Sep. 27 the CFETS further said that its yuan exchange level composite index, which is responsible for measuring the yuan's power in relation to a basket of currencies, obtained 0.07 points to 99.09.

The index puts the yuan against the price of 24 currencies, which the U.S. dollar, euro and Japanese yen are all part of.

In the past week, it was witnessed that an index, which evaluates the yuan in comparison with the Bank for International Settlements currency basket, increased 0.1 points to 103.03.

The index evaluating the yuan compared to the Special Drawing Rights basket soared up 0.04 points to 97.26.
