PM Shmyhal: Second tranche from EU will boost economic recovery in Ukraine


(MENAFN- UkrinForm) The European Commission's decision to provide Ukraine with EUR 600 million as the second tranche of macro-financial assistance will give Ukraine the opportunity boost economic recovery from COVID-19.

Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal wrote on his Twitter account, Ukrinform reports.

“Grateful to the European Commission and [Executive Vice President Valdis] Dombrovskis for providing €600 mln of the 2nd tranche of macro-financial assistance to Ukraine. It'll accelerate our economic recovery from the COVID-19,” he wrote.

The prime minister added that Ukraine and EU are deepening relations,“continuing reforms that will strengthen the resilience of Europe.”

As reported, the European Commission approved a decision to provide Ukraine with EUR 600 million as the second tranche of macro-financial assistance. The total amount of the program is EU 1.2 billion.
